Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Gitwyn, a native macOS git client for Xcode (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. License
Gitwyn is free to download and use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on the Apple devices you own or control.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, tamper with the App, or use it to violate any law or infringe the rights of others.
3. Intellectual property
The App, its source code, and all related trademarks and content are owned by Gitwyn and its licensors. These Terms grant you no ownership rights. Your own code and git repositories remain entirely yours - the App runs locally and does not claim any rights to your data.
4. Your data and privacy
Your source code, repositories, diffs and commit messages are processed entirely on your Mac and are never sent to us. This includes drafting commit messages, which runs on Apple Intelligence’s on-device model.
The App collects anonymous usage counts, which you can switch off. The setting is shown when you first open the App and can be changed at any time in Settings › General. Switching it off does not limit any feature. What is collected, and what is not, is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Gitwyn is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data. Always keep backups of your repositories.
6. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
